Underway: Occurring While In Motion
Happy sunny Sunday everyone! I'm spending my Sunday at home with a much needed rest after several stress filled weeks prepping for these various events. I'm hoping some motivation will kick in tomorrow because I'll have to get back to business.
As some of you may know, yesterday was the opening of my first ever exhibition. After a semester of planning and a lot of help and support from our professor Andrea Harris, my classmates and I were able to put together an awesome show. Hosted at Logan Creative, a collective industrial style studio space, the exhibition had a wide range in art styles and mediums. There was photography by Mitch Ridder and James Chen, oil paintings by Madeline Cheo, handmade prints by Hadas Weinstein and Noah Barrett, game art inspired illustrations by Lauren Oien, and a large digital illustration piece and handmade prints by me, Olga Perelman. With live mellow music, snacks and drinks, great art, and great people, it turned out to be quite the evening filled with the best vibes.
It took a lot of time, energy, and resources to get everything just right, but I am honestly so happy with how my vision for my portion in the exhibition came together. From the pretty peach wall and framed prints to the giant floating Ron Swanson head (yes you read that correctly) and cute lounging area, the Inner Peach section was pretty rad if I do say so myself. In the wise words of Mary Poppins, it was practically perfect in every way.
I'll end this little happy post with a shoutout. I'd like to say a massive thank you to my classmates, professor, friends, and family who came to the event and helped make all of this happen.
P. S. The exhibit will be up until June 7th, so go take a look if you haven't already. 10/10 would recommend.
